Baccarat is a classic card game where you predict the outcome of a hand dealt between Player and Banker. You pick which side will win, or bet on a tie, or wager that either position will draw a pair on the deal. It's a straightforward game of prediction with no complex mechanics to learn — you're simply guessing which hand will be closer to nine.

How it works
Standard natural and draw rules. One difference from a casino table: each of the six cards is drawn independently from a full 52-card deck rather than dealt from an eight-deck shoe, so card counting has nothing to work with. A tie pushes Player and Banker bets back.
The tie bet is tempting because it pays nine times your stake, but it wins only about one time in ten. The pair bets hit even less often, roughly once every thirteen hands, which is why they return the highest multiplier at twelve times. Most players chase these long-shot payouts without noticing they come with much thinner returns overall. If you're drawn to a particular bet, check which spot actually gives you better value over time rather than just picking the one with the biggest number attached.

The odds behind it
- Banker returns the most of the five spots; Tie returns the least by a wide margin.
The return figures show what you get back across many rounds on each bet type. Banker and Player bets both return close to ninety-nine percent, meaning the house edge is slim but real. Tie looks worse on paper and is — it returns about eighty-six percent, so the house takes a bigger cut there. Pair bets fall between these, returning just over ninety-two percent. These figures assume you stick with one spot consistently; they're not promises about individual sessions, only the math of how these bets perform across time.
