Coin Flip is a true 50/50 game: heads or tails, one flip, instant settlement. It is the fastest way to see what a 1% house edge means in practice, because the whole pricing fits in one number.
Why 1.98× and not 2×
A fair coin pays 2× on a win. Bethropic pays 1.98×, which is 2 × (1 − 0.01). That 0.02 is the house edge, 1% of every stake in expectation. Over a thousand flips at 1 unit each you would expect to be down about 10 units, with a lot of noise around that number.
| Outcome | Chance | Return on 1 unit |
|---|---|---|
| Win | 50% | 1.98 |
| Lose | 50% | 0 |
| Expected | 0.99 |
RTP is 99%. There is no side that wins more often; heads and tails are symmetric.
What streaks actually look like
People underestimate how streaky a fair coin is. In 100 flips, a run of six or more identical results shows up more often than not. A run of ten happens about once every 700 flips. If your plan cannot survive ten losses in a row, it will fail on an ordinary evening.
Two rules of thumb that hold up:
- Flat stakes of 1% to 2% of the session bankroll give you hundreds of flips of runway.
- Doubling after a loss (martingale) turns many small wins into one rare, large loss. It does not change the 99% return, it changes when you feel it.
The concierge can run autobet for you with a win or loss limit. Set a stop-loss you are comfortable with before you start and let the limit end the session, not the streak.
Limits and free play
Minimum and maximum bets are per coin, shown after login (BTC minimum is 0.000001 BTC). Zero-amount rounds are allowed on every game, including Coin Flip, and they are real server rounds, so they are perfect for checking the fairness panel or testing an autobet pattern.
Verifying a flip
Each flip shows its hash and salt. The result is derived from the server seed, your client seed and the nonce, and you can rotate the client seed at any time. Recompute a few rounds once; after that you know the coin is not weighted.
