RPS on Bethropic: 1.97ⁿ streak payouts, draws, and when to cash out

Rock Paper Scissors against the house is a streak game. Each win multiplies your stake, a draw keeps the streak alive, a loss ends it at zero. You can cash out after any win.

The payout

Each win multiplies by 1.97, so after n wins the multiplier is 1.97ⁿ (rounded down). The 1.97 comes from 2 − 3 × edge with a 1% edge: three outcomes, one of which is a push, so the edge is spread a little differently than in a two-outcome game.

Wins in a rowMultiplier
11.97×
23.88×
37.64×
529.66×
8226.7×

Each throw is a third win, a third draw, a third loss. Draws cost nothing and change nothing; only losses end the run. RTP works out to about 98.5%.

Cash-out logic

Because every throw has the same one-in-three chance of ending the run, the expected value of continuing is the same at every step; what changes is how much you have on the table. A common rule that keeps sessions sane: pick a target number of wins before the first throw (two or three is typical), cash out when you hit it, and never extend a run in the moment.

Demo versus real

The browser demo uses a 4% edge (1.88 per win). Logged-in play uses 1.97. If you are checking numbers, use the logged-in table above.

Limits and verification

Limits and the maximum profit cap are per coin, shown after login. Zero-amount runs are allowed. Each throw is generated from the server seed, your client seed and the nonce with the hash shown before the throw.
