Bayern Munich has jumped into the pursuit to sign promising youngster JJ Gabriel, who wants to leave Manchester United.
Gabriel became 16 years old on Tuesday, and now he can transfer to a European club.
Bayern met with Gabriel's representatives in May and made contact again this week.
Bayern coach Kompany speaks highly of Gabriel.
Gabriel is frustrated about not receiving sufficient opportunities in the first team
and requested last month that Man United deregister him as a player, with a high likelihood of leaving Old Trafford
While Bayern's interest is serious,
according to SKY, they are not willing to pay theseven-figure salary that Gabriel's camp is demanding.
Instead, Bayern executives are presenting plans for future development and playing opportunities to
try to convince Gabriel and his father Joe Oshearuil.
Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and Barcelona are also linked with Gabriel.
Gabriel is currently doing individual training at Barcelona,
but Barcelona has publicly distanced itself from the signing rumors.

Currently, Man United is refusing Gabriel's request to deregister him as a player.
Therefore, Gabriel cannot transfer to a competing club within England until the registration expires this summer.
Gabriel's frustration exploded when he was left out of Man United's first-team Champions League squad but instead played against Saba U-21.
However, Gabriel holds an EU passport through Irish and Cypriot heritage, allowing him to transfer to any club located in the EU.
It remains to be seen whether Bayern will even promise Gabriel a guaranteed place in Kompany's first-team squad.
Bayern has occasionally fast-tracked young talents to the first team.
In 2025, they promoted 17-year-old Lenard Karle directly from the U-19 team to the first team.
He didn't even go through the reserve team playing in Germany's fourth division.
Manchester United manager Michael Carrick used Gabriel in preseason friendlies and gave him a first-team number, but
Gabriel has still never been included in Manchester United's first-team squad for an official match.

However, Gabriel himself believes he is already ready to play at senior level.
The decisive moment when Gabriel's side finally lost patience was last month.
Gabriel, who was 15 at the time, was not included in the first-team squad for the Champions League match against Azerbaijani club Sabail FK,
and instead played in the UEFA Youth League match against Sabail on the same day.
Other Bundesliga clubs including Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen
also showed interest in signing Gabriel at one point,
but the player's side has now withdrawn from the transfer race due to financial demands and fierce competition for his signature.
