Premier League predictions & analysis
⭐ Top pick — Newcastle win vs Bournemouth
Brighton's 4-0 win over Aston Villa was probably the most impressive result of Matchweek 1, but I'm not ready to crown them after one game. Chelsea went across London and beat Fulham 3-2, and now get their home opener at Stamford Bridge. This is obviously a tougher matchup than the 53% suggests, but I still think Chelsea have the better team from top to bottom. At basically a coin flip, I'll take the Blues at home.
⚽ Best total — Hull/Aston Villa Under 2.5 Goals
Aston Villa have yet to score through their first two Premier League matches, and I'm not convinced a trip to Hull suddenly fixes those attacking problems. Villa's defense has at least kept both games tight, conceding just once, while Hull haven't shown enough going forward to make me fear this turning into a shootout. With even money available on Under 2.5, I'm betting Villa's early-season offensive struggles continue in another low-scoring match.
🎲 Wild card — Ipswich/Liverpool BTTS — Yes
Liverpool's first two Premier League matches both ended 2-2, which tells you exactly where this team stands right now. The attack has more than enough quality to score against Ipswich, but the Reds have yet to prove they can consistently keep opponents out. Ipswich just scored twice at Old Trafford and should be aggressive at home. Liverpool should get theirs, but I'm betting Ipswich finds at least one of its own to cash BTTS.

Chris Vasile's outright pick: Chelsea (12%)
At 12%, Chelsea is the first outright that jumped off the board. Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United are all navigating managerial changes, while Arsenal faces a completely different challenge after finally ending its title drought. It's one thing to hunt down the league leaders, it's another to be the team everyone is chasing. Chelsea is also starting a new chapter under Xabi Alonso, but I view that as a positive. He transformed Bayer Leverkusen into Bundesliga champions by instilling a clear identity and winning mentality. With Cole Palmer, Estevao, Moises Caicedo forming one of the league's most talented cores, Chelsea has everything it needs to contend for the title. At 10/1, the upside is simply too good to pass up.
Pick made on August 1.
About the Premier League
The English Premier League (EPL) is one of the most popular and competitive soccer leagues in the world, featuring 20 clubs battling across a 38-match season. From perennial contenders such as Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea to newly promoted clubs looking to establish themselves in the top flight, every Matchweek brings a new set of storylines and betting opportunities.
The league's depth and variety of playing styles create plenty of ways to wager beyond simply picking a winner. Bettors can target moneylines, spreads, goal totals, player props, futures, and more, with EPL betting odds available throughout the season.
Premier League betting odds
When it comes to betting lines in the Premier League, there are a few major markets that resonate within English soccer. EPL odds reflect the unpredictability of the league, and although fans love to nibble at the Over/Under totals, most head straight to moneyline markets as their first port of call.
Premier League moneyline
The single most popular bet when it comes to Premier League betting lines. It differs from traditional American sports in that it is a three-way market. You can back a win for Team A, a win for Team B, or back the draw (an option that can offer great value). The moneyline is your starting point when it comes to Premier League odds.

Within Premier League betting lines the Over/Under for an English soccer game is traditionally set at 2.5 goals. It works as a good gauge for the market, but EPL fans can choose their own Over/Under total. Whisper it quietly, but you can even back Under 0.5 goals and pray for the 0-0.
